GOVERNMENT & MUNICIPALITIES
Solar energy & backup power for government and municipalities
Reliable, mobile energy for public services, zero-emission projects and emergency situations.
Municipalities and other public organisations increasingly need temporary or permanent power supply off the electricity grid — for construction projects, municipal depots, events, temporary locations, crisis facilities and critical municipal processes.
Mobisun delivers scalable solar energy systems with battery storage — from compact portable power stations to mobile Solar Trailers and complete 20ft and 40ft Solar Containers.

Energy solutions for public organisations
From a single mobile workstation to a complete temporary energy supply for a municipal site.
Mobisun supports, among others:
- municipalities and provinces
- safety regions and crisis organisations
- water authorities
- executive agencies
- municipal services and field teams
- public infrastructure projects
- care, shelter and social locations
- contractors working on behalf of government
We can supply systems for a single project, multiple locations or recurring deployment, and advise on technical configuration, planning, delivery, service and possible rental or lease arrangements.
Four applications for municipalities and government
1. Zero-emission construction sites and municipal depots
Electric construction equipment, lighting, security, communication and mobile workstations demand increasing amounts of electricity at locations where a fixed grid connection is not always available or sufficiently powerful.
Mobisun offers mobile solar energy and battery storage as a temporary power supply for:
- infrastructure works
- road and green maintenance
- renovation projects
- temporary municipal depots
- electric tools and battery chargers
- construction lighting
- camera and security systems
- mobile offices and cabins
With energy from solar panels and battery storage, the running hours of a traditional generator can be reduced — cutting fuel use, noise and local exhaust emissions on the project site.
Suitable systems
Mobisun Solar Trailer
20 kWh battery · 8 kWp solar panels · 7 kVA AC outputA mobile solar power plant on wheels. Suitable for temporary works and locations where the energy supply regularly needs to be moved.
20ft Solar Container
50 kWh battery · 13.3 kWp solar panels · 22 kVA AC outputFor larger municipal works, central construction power and long-term project sites.
2. Backup power for municipal buildings
What happens when the electricity fails for several hours or longer?
Municipal services, communication and ICT depend heavily on electricity. Lighting, access control, charging facilities, cooling equipment and temporary shelter locations can also matter during an outage.
Mobisun systems can form part of a planned backup power concept for, for example:
City halls and offices
Power for laptops, communication, routers, lighting, screens and other selected essential equipment.
Cooling and storage
Backup capacity for selected cooling or freezing equipment, depending on actual consumption and required autonomy.
Crisis and coordination locations
Temporary power supply for communication, lighting, workstations and supporting equipment.
Shelter locations
Energy for lighting, communication, registration, charging equipment and other temporary facilities.
Field services
Mobile power for teams that need to remain active at different locations during an outage.
For critical applications we dimension the system based on actual power, peak load, desired runtime and required redundancy.
3. Mobile energy during crises and disasters
During floods, severe storms, large-scale power outages or other disruptions, a need for energy can arise quickly at a location with no reliable grid connection.
Mobisun systems can be relocated quickly and deployed for, among other things:
- temporary crisis posts
- mobile command locations
- communication facilities
- temporary shelter
- emergency lighting
- pumps and supporting equipment
- logistics locations
- temporary public services
Scale up when the situation demands it
The large systems combine solar energy, battery storage, 230V and 400V connections, remote monitoring and generator backup. This allows each application to choose between fully off-grid use and a hybrid energy supply.
4. Temporary public locations and events
Not every temporary location has sufficient grid capacity.
Mobisun systems can be deployed for:
- municipal events
- election or registration locations
- temporary information points
- mobile offices
- markets and public activities
- temporary traffic or security installations
- research and measurement locations
- temporary charging and work facilities
Because the systems can be redeployed, a single mobile energy supply can serve different municipal projects throughout the year.
From portable to complete power plant
| System | Battery | Solar capacity | AC output | Typical government application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mobisun Pro Air 2.0 | 308 Wh | Extern uitbreidbaar | 500 W | Mobile worker, inspection, communication |
| Solar Trailer | 20 kWh | 8 kWp | 7 kVA | Depot, event, temporary site, backup power |
| 20ft Solar Container | 50 kWh | 13,3 kWp | 22 kVA | Construction site, crisis centre, central facility |
| 40ft Solar Container | 100 kWh | 37,4 kWp | 44 kVA | Larger infrastructure, shelter, microgrid |
Not sure which system you need?
We calculate the required capacity based on your equipment, operating hours, peak power, desired autonomy and available solar energy.
Procurement for government and public organisations
A technical proposal that fits your project
A public procurement request is different from a standard webshop order.
That is why Mobisun can prepare a project-based proposal for government projects, including:
Technical configuration
Dimensioning based on energy consumption, peak power and desired autonomy.
Custom quote
Clear specification of systems, options, delivery and service.
Multiple locations or quantities
Pricing and delivery proposals for project-based purchasing and larger quantities.
Rental and lease
For temporary projects, available rental and lease arrangements can be discussed.
Service & maintenance
Options for monitoring, maintenance and support during the period of use.
Documentation
Technical product information and available certification and system documentation can be provided with the proposal.
Framework agreement or recurring need?
Does your organisation need mobile energy over multiple years or at multiple locations? Discuss with us which delivery and service arrangement best fits your procurement process.
From request to deployment
Inventory
You indicate what the energy supply is needed for, which equipment must keep running and at which location the system will be deployed.
Capacity calculation
We determine the required power, battery capacity, solar capacity and any backup facilities.
Technical proposal and quote
You receive a project-specific proposal with system configuration, options, price and expected delivery.
Delivery and commissioning
Depending on the system, transport, placement and commissioning can be part of the project.
Service
For larger systems, service, monitoring and maintenance can be tailored to the application.
